Wildacres Retreat 2012
Our annual retreat to Wildacres will be May 21-24, 2012. Please hold the dates open on your calendar so that you can join us. We will have more information on the speaker and program in the next few weeks.
WILDACRES RETREAT 2011
The annual Wildacres retreat for Senior Scholars last spring was from May 16 to 19, 2011.
Wildacres is a conference center adjacent to the Blue Ridge Parkway (www.wildacres.org/). We make a four-day, three-night retreat there each spring.
Our speaker was Bill Carson, retired NASA engineer, owner of the Orchard at Alta Pass (near Wildacres), Revolutionary War historian, and expert storyteller. He spoke to Senior Scholars two years ago on the role of the Overmountain Men, who traveled through Alta Pass during the war for our independence.
We want all of our members to be able to experience Wildacres. Again in 2012 the Wildacres Scholarship Fund will be active. If you cannot afford to attend Wildacres, please consider applying for scholarship support.
